Alumni information   -   Welcome to Alumni

While The School for Strings does not necessarily intend that its students become professional musicians, many of its alumni have attended some of the leading conservatories, including The Juilliard School, Curtis, Peabody, Oberlin, New England Conservatory, Cleveland, Eastman, the Manhattan School, Indiana University and SUNY Stony Brook. The School for Strings’ alumni have gone on to become members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Brentano Quartet, Mendelssohn Quartet, Maia Quartet, and other distinguished groups.

Alumni who have gone into non-musical fields have matriculated at colleges and universities such as Harvard, Yale, MIT, Cornell, Brown, Williams, Cambridge, Columbia, NYU, University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins, Dartmouth, and Stanford. Many have organized chamber ensembles at their colleges and universities and have continued making music their leisure time.

The School’s Teacher Training Program has graduated over 400 qualified Suzuki teachers. These Alumni have gone on to build well-known Suzuki programs in the Tri-State area, across the United States and abroad.

If you are an alumni of The School for Strings, we would love to hear from you!  Please take a few minutes to fill out our Alumni Information form and let us know how you are doing.
