Marina Obukovsky received her M.M. (cum laude) from Kharkov Conservatory and her B.M. from Kharkov Music College. While a student, she won first prize in the Kharkov College Competition. Ms. Obukovsky is a former piano faculty member of Kharkov Conservatory and the Special Music School for Gifted Children. She has performed solo and chamber music recitals throughout Ukraine and Russia and has served as an accompanist for the National Opera Competitions in Moscow, Odessa, Lvov, and Kiev. Ms. Obukovsky has lived in New York since 1993 and currently holds faculty positions at The School for Strings and Mannes College (Preparatory Division). Ms. Obukovsky completed her long-term Suzuki training at The School for Strings with Sheila Keats, and some supplementary pedagogy courses with Mary Craig Powell. Furthermore, she holds a faculty position at Hartt Suzuki Institute and frequently teaches workshops at Queens College (NY), The Hartt School (CT), and most recently, Bermuda. Many of Ms. Obukovsky's students have participated in masterclasses at National Suzuki Conferences and have won top prizes in various New York competitions. Ms. Obukovsky currently serves as a board member of Associated Music Teacher's League.
