Originally from Yerevan, Armenia where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree at Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory under the tutelage of Medeya Abrahamian, Lilit Kurdiyan began teaching theory at School for Strings in the fall of 2005. Lilit also holds a second Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School. As a member and Assistant Artistic Coordinator of the eclectic HyeArt Ensemble, Ms.Kurdiyan regularly joins her Armenian contemporaries in performances throughout the NY metropolitan area, the proceeds of which are frequently donated to various benefit causes. She is fluent in Armenian, Russian & Enlish and has earned a proficiency in Italian. Recently Ms. Kurdiyan was invited to the Music Camp International in Kiev, Ukraine, where she taught and translated for elementary school children.
