Faculty   -   Violin   -   Elizabeth Chang
 
Elizabeth Chang has appeared as a soloist with numerous orchestras and in recitals and as a chamber musician in Europe, South America and in this country. A native New Yorker, Ms. Chang studied at the Juilliard Pre-College, at Harvard College and in Bern, Switzerland. She received the 1982 Presidential Scholar in the Arts Award and received a Beebe Fellowship for Study Abroad from New England Conservatory. She has appeared as a member of the Sea Cliff Chamber Players and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and has toured and recorded with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Chang has taught master classes and appeared as recitalist in the São Paulo International Chamber Music Festival. She is the head of the chamber music department and a violin faculty member at The School for Strings. In the summer of 2003, she founded a four-week chamber music workshop for pre-professional students at The School for Strings and in the fall of 2003 she was appointed to the faculty of Rutgers University. Ms Chang is also founding member and Artistic Director of the Lighthouse Chamber Players.
